I hold a BA in Social Development Studies from Renison College, University of Waterloo, 2003. The program feeds into Ontario's programs for Master of Social Work. Social work ended up not being my thing, as I realized by the time I'd taken all the requisite courses for the degree, so I filled out the four-year-honours with electives in the Arts and Humanities: philosophy, anthropology, sociology, religious studies. All of these study humans and helped me better understand my own life experiences of growing up in a very religious community, then leaving at age forty to get an education and integrate with mainstream society. Since then, I did a degree in theology and spent major amounts of time in online discussion forums using what I learned. Quora was the most recent, where I answered many questions on human relationships of all kinds, including family, couples, and friends; I used the credential "studied family dynamics formally and informally all my life."
