Mar 8, 2018 at 9:59 comment added JonathanReez @mcalex negative vibes like not taking out the headphones headphones or looking annoyed when OP opens his mouth. Or maybe OP is lucky and the interest is mutual. Nobody knows in advance.
Mar 8, 2018 at 9:57 comment added mcalex Negative vibes like she's wearing headphones?
Mar 8, 2018 at 2:01 comment added JonathanReez @J.Taylor I'm not saying OP should act like a creep. Smile, say hello, and GTFO if you see negative vibes. I guarantee the girl in question won't even remember OP ever existed on the very next day.
Mar 8, 2018 at 0:44 comment added J. Taylor No, it's a big deal to a lot of women in NYC, especially since the creepy harassing behavior is often followed by violence upon rejection or refusal to interact: youtube.com/watch?v=b1XGPvbWn0A
Mar 8, 2018 at 0:41 comment added JonathanReez @J.Taylor again, it's only a big deal here on the Internet and in OPs own head. Otherwise people in Manhattan are used to it regardless of you or I have to say about it.
Mar 8, 2018 at 0:32 comment added J. Taylor I never told the OP not to talk to unfamiliar people. I said not to harass women who have headphones on and clearly don't want to talk to him, just because he finds her "cute".
Mar 7, 2018 at 17:51 comment added JonathanReez @JTaylor things are often simpler in real life than they are when discussed online. This is one of them. I assure you unfamiliar people talk to each other in Manhattan all the time and OPs impoliteness won't do any harm :)
Mar 7, 2018 at 1:19 comment added J. Taylor Might be OK for you, but not for the girl who is going to have to worry about another creepy dude leering at her at the cafe, where she has headphones on clearly indicating she didn't come there to talk to people. She is possibly going to be driven away from one of her favorite spots, to avoid her new stalker. This is not "OK" in my book. Leave her the f*ck alone.
