Assuming they were genuinely trying to help, they should be more than willing to stop if you just ask them to. (And will probably think of half of this on their own even if it's left unsaid.) But if the gentle approach suggested by other answers doesn't work, then sure, explain exactly why you find it insulting. But don't expect them to like hearing it. | |
