But, I rather leave it alone, then creating any friction in the relationship. In this case, I think OP is also offended by Bob's hatespeeches. Nothing wrong with telling your best friend that you are offended by it. Mutual respect is the solution. Thanks for adding the link!

Sometimes it's better to avoid a sensitive subject than to try to convince the other person of your own views (no matter how ridiculous theirs might be).
