Oct 2, 2017 at 21:34 comment added English Student Oh yes I believe it is possible and you've confirmed it -- thanks for the encouragement, so I am trying to find that fine balance,@akaioi.
Oct 2, 2017 at 21:29 comment added akaioi @EnglishStudent I do hope that you are able to come to a modus vivendi with her. Myself, I've been able to come to a friendly detente -- even an entente cordiale -- with a fellow who's completely opposite of me on an important issue, so it is absolutely possible!
Oct 2, 2017 at 20:44 comment added English Student Jane D will never ever say 'some of my best friends are men' but she takes her role as a radical feminist too seriously at times. She is a simple and friendly person when she lays down the political burden but it occurs only once in a while @akaioi.
Oct 2, 2017 at 20:41 comment added English Student I always thought Jane D acts more radical than she really feels, to intimidate men and impress her students, but... Thanks for the pertinent warning and I shall be very much on my guard @Jasmine!
Oct 2, 2017 at 20:23 comment added Jasmine @EnglishStudent - I think that's a poor assumption to make. If you're a man, she hates you - she's just afraid to say it to your face, because she fears men. You wait - one of these days, she will.
Oct 2, 2017 at 19:55 comment added akaioi @EnglishStudent Janes's attitude has shades of "Some of my best friends are males" ...?
Oct 2, 2017 at 16:31 comment added English Student Thanks for these good points @apaul34208, +1 -- Jane D is absolutely convinced that men are the 'class enemy' of women but she has nothing against me personally (friendly enough when not politically fired up, which is like 15% of the time!)
